Are there restrictions on how I can use Library resources?

Answer

Library resources — books, ebooks, journals, and databases — are licensed for study, teaching, and research connected to UniSC, and must be used in line with Australian copyright law, the University's Copyright Policy, and the University's Acceptable Use of ICT Resources Policy.

In practice, this means:

  • Use Library resources only for UniSC study, teaching, or research — never for commercial purposes.
  • Keep your login details private and don't share access with others.
  • Don't systematically download, copy, distribute, or store large amounts of content.
  • Don't upload Library material to file-sharing sites or services — including academic file-sharing platforms.
  • Don't enter Library content into AI tools unless the vendor or publisher specifically permits it.
  • Follow any copyright notices, terms of use, or watermarks that appear on a resource.

If you're unsure whether a specific use is allowed, contact copyright@usc.edu.au.
